Every time I wander into Waterstones, my eyes flicker to their notebook section and one in particular has stood out to me lately. It's called 642 THINGS TO WRITE ABOUT and that's exactly what it is; a nicely formatted selection of 642 writing prompts. There are a lot of writing prompt books and websites out there but flicking through this one was promising. It was written by the San Francisco Writers' Grotto and it is clear that real writers have contributed to this idea-generating book.
Today, one of our lazy Saturdays, Kevin and I took a stroll into town and he treated me to this book and a funny little green dude we have now named "Squidge."
Today I wrote No. 12:
"You have just swallowed your pride and done something you didn't want to do. Your friend wants to know why. The two of you are driving around an almost-full parking garage looking for a space for the friend's oversize pickup. Write the scene."
