Alnwick Castle is the location for an array of films and TV programs a few being Harry Potter, Downton Abbey, Elizabeth, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Blackadder. I had been meaning to visit for a long time and a few weeks ago we drove up. It really is a breath-taking castle. Walking into it you can't help but look up. The Percy family open the rooms up to the public during March to November and I really loved touring the house. It's different to most grand houses in that the family seem to have purposefully left their mark in every corner. Family photos of beautiful, blonde beaming children are dotted throughout the various rooms. Wedding photos that you can't help but smile at. My favourite room was the library. It looked like the one out of Disney's Beauty and The Beast, with ladders and everything. I often wonder, if I did have a library like that in my house, would I actually use the ladders and read all the books. Or would I just sit and look up at it all and feel like Belle. The whole house made me very curious about the people who live there. I wasn't allowed to film inside the rooms but there was plenty of other things to film. I had in mind to make a 30-60 second taster video while we were there and this is how it turned out.
Have you been to Alnwick Castle? What was your favourite thing to see or do?
