Snapping Photos in Durham

Durham is one of my favourite cities to visit. It is such a pretty place with so much culture, plus it's only up the road from Middlesbrough.

It was my friend Emily's last day today, before she continues on with her travels, so I thought it would be a good idea to catch the train into Durham and have a wander.

I'm a filmmaker and I use a 5D MK II but I never really take the time to take photos with it. Emily visiting us and seeing her incredible work has inspired me to at least get a grip of the basics and I find it's a completely different learning curve.

I took the opportunity today to play around and get used to taking photos with my camera instead of filming with it.

We found a charming little cafe called Chapters Tea Room where we were able to sit by the window and people-watch while sipping our lattes.

We found a phone box along the way...that was fun!

Shooting through the window pane was my fav...

So that was my day, and the sun was out for all of it!

If you're ever up in the North East, why not head over to Durham and visit the cathedral, take a castle tour and have a latte in Chapters Tea Rooms.
